National Rowing

Gordon's School Rowing Team were at Dorney lake for the National Schools Regatta - the biggest junior race there is when it comes to rowing - all the top clubs and crews in the country were there competing.

Mimi Hewetson first started on Saturday with a 1900m time trial in the Womens Championship singles (this includes year 13 racers too) - the second largest competition of the weekend with 51 competitors. She came a great 27th in her time trial, went through to the repechage but drew and unfortunate lane. A strong cross wind cost her the race but put her through to the E final in which she came 5th today.

James Clarke and James Gibson were competing in the Open Championship Double Sculls (again, most competitors being year 13). They came 10th in their time trial which was fantastic which put them through to the semi finals to fight out for the A and B finals - only the top 16 crews of the country get through to the semi finals. They came 5th in their semi final which put them through to the B final. The final was their best race - and some of the best rowing we have seen them do and they came 3rd in their B final.
