Karting Success!

Gordon’s took four teams to the BSKC (British Schools Karting Championship) at the regional qualifiers on Tuesday night. We knew from the practice rounds that competition would be tight. Gordon’s finished 1st and 3rd on the evening, with the team lead by captain Sam Light (Y9- 2 storming wins from 2 – quickest driver of the night), Bobby Caldwell (Y10- amazing overtake to take a win on the last lap) and Alex Perry (Y9 drive of the night weaving through the field to take a 2nd place) continuing the karting tradition at Gordon’s by reaching the regional final. All the boys drove with passion, but special kudos to Jack Kircher (Y9) for keeping a cool head when other teams seemed to be driving bumper cars in to him and Edward de Vries (Y11) for smooth driving in getting a win for the B team with a great lead-out drive. With such a young A team and plenty of youth in the B,C and D team, karting is looking strong for the years to come. The regional final will take place at Reading TeamSport in May.
