Hockey Champions

On Wednesday 13th November the girls travelled to KCS Wimbledon to compete in their annual Invitational 11 a side tournament.

In the 16 minute, one way matches, the girls won every game without conceding a goal.

Gordon's School were crowned Champions of the KCS Tournament after winning all of their group matches, semi-final and final.

All thirteen girls in the squad played extremely well over the 84 minutes of hockey against some of the top schools in Surrey. Hannah Bodoano finished as top scorer and there were fantastic performances throughout the Gordon’s team. The back four of Abi Howgate, Maisy Ellis, Daisy Kenworthy and Emily Jones should be commended for their hard work in defence. Megan Roberts was superb in goal keeping a clean sheet for nearly an hour and a half of fast action hockey. Goals scorers for the school were Maddie Richardson, Hannah Bodoano, Alice Cresswell, Abi White, Poppy Walters. Amy Dove and Sophie Ross should be mentioned for their tireless effort on the wings and their ability to win penalty corners for the team.

Captain Maisy Ellis lifted the KCS Tournament Shield and all of the girls received gold medals for their team effort and resilience throughout the tournament.
